In Brazilië betekent “shaking the raba” simpelweg: je lichaam vrij laten bewegen, je billen laten dansen zoals jij dat wilt, en je fantasie de rest laten doen. Het draait om plezier, sensualiteit, creativiteit en pure levenslust, precies zoals op de straten van Brazilië.

Over Bixaria

BIXARIA creëert een veilige, open en speelse ruimte voor iedereen die hun lichaam wil vieren, ongeacht waar je staat in je eigen reis. De nacht is geworteld in bewegingen van immigranten, BIPOC queers, experimentele en dissidente communities.

We gaan niet uit van iemands gender, oriëntatie of uiterlijk. Jij bent queer genoeg. Jij bent welkom. Kom zoals je bent, ons doel is simpel: plezier maken. Onze deurpolicy en Gender Awareness team zorgen ervoor dat de vibe de hele nacht smooth blijft.

Verwacht Brazilian electronic vibes, contemporary Brazilian Funk, Brega Funk, Techno Brega, Brazilian House, Dembow en verrassende experimenten. DJs, performers, MC’s, en vooral: jij! BIXARIA wordt georganiseerd door La Cigra$$ninha, een artiest met community-based projecten over de hele wereld.

BIXARIA is an Amsterdam-based Queer Brazilian Club Night focused on creating space for shaking all the r4bas arriving in ANTWERP to make the floor shake! In Brazilian language, “shaking the raba” means dancing with your butt up and down as much as you want, in whatever way you would like to, and as far as your imagination can take you!. It’s about fun, joy, sensuality and collective creativity, the way we like it in the streets of Brazil.

BIXARIA holds space for people who want to explore their bodies in whatever moment they are. It comes from movements centered on immigr4nts, BIPOC queers, experimental and dissent people. We don’t assume anyone’s gender or orientation and we’re not focused on how anyone “looks like”. So don’t be afraid, you are queer enough and everybody is welcome! We love you as you are and the goal is to have fun. We have a door policy and a Gender Awareness team to help keep the night smooth.

Expect brazilian eletronc contemporary Brazilian Funk, Brega Funk, Techno Brega, Brazilian House, Dembow and experiments with all of that. DJs, performances, MCs and most importantly, you.
